While researching the various technological standards that are defined on CPALMS, I specifically looked into what middle schoolers may be required to learn. I found the standard SC.6.CC.2.1, which involves students collecting information from the internet and helping them inform the creation of their own unique product. I found this to be an interesting standard to learn at such a young age, because this is essentially the same thing that we are learning about while in College, which displays how much digital literacy and technological information should be taught at these young ages. This standard also involves students learning and understanding how to design and publish their digital products that are made to engage with the audience through one of the three main appeals (ethos, pathos, and logos). I think that this is a great standard to implement at young ages as it displays the incorporation of various educational practices (such as rhetoric) while displaying to students the importance of knowing how to use technology. In these ways, I believe that I would be prepared to implement this standard based on my current skill set.

One of the resources that I found on the CPALMS Educator website that peaked my interest was through the seventh grade civics standards, specifically SS.7.CG.1.4, which included many resources about describing and explaining the ideals of the Enlightenment ideas. There were seven different resources provided to teachers that would help guide seventh grade students in engaging critically and analyzing various pieces of history. Through breaking down such an important and integral piece of American History into tangible portions, students are able to grasp and understand these concepts. These resources could also be used to support lessons and Power Points/videos that the teacher may already have planned out, allowing students to actively engage with the informational resources that the teacher has created.

Internet searching is one of the most simple ways to answer questions that a person can have. It is incredibly important to be a proficient internet searcher as a teacher as it can be used to answer a quick question that a teacher may have at the spur of the moment, for instance I was unsure of how to pronounce the word "Magellanic" and had to quickly search the pronunciation of the word. Teachers may be faced with situations such as this one as well as situations where they may be asked to introduce new educational practices that are scientifically backed. In this case, I believe that Google Scholar would be a great tool for teachers to use and incorporate into their toolkit. This is the feature of google (other than a simple google search) that I use the most. It was not covered in this weeks course materials, but it is a valuable tool that everyone has the access to use.
